Monday's Two-Minute Takeaway - When It's Time to Move On
When you know deep down it's time to move on...
All of us have likely experienced that feeling or painful realization that we’ve been taken advantage of. Someone isn’t what they said they were, or we’ve fallen prey to fraud.
Sometimes it’s worse. We’ve given years and our best effort to someone who does not appreciate us and has only been using us all along. They’re selfish and we’re their latest victim. Now what?
In Gen. 30:25-43 Jacob knew deep down it was time to move on. Yet he continued to work diligently, provide great value to those around him, and prepared for the right time - God's time.
Jacob wisely made himself invaluable and hard to be replaced. His "boss" even wanted to give him a raise so he wouldn't leave!
Regardless of how we're being treated we can still do right when others are doing us wrong (Eph. 6:5-8, 1 Pet. 2:18-24).
So what can you do right now, whether it's time to move on or stay?
Consider your present contribution where you live, work, learn, worship, and socialize. Would it be missed? Hard to replace? What can you do to make yourself a better contributor?
In my next post, I'll give you seven things that helped Jacob know it was time to move on.
